The Persona 5 Royal x Identity V Crossover Event; Official Details & Release Date

Last week we had a look at the then-teased crossover event with Identity V x Persona 5 Royal but now we have all the official details from Identity V themselves. While they’ve not broken down everything you need to know, we’ll take a look at the details we do have and give you our speculation.

The Persona 5 crossover initially came to the game a few years ago and players who missed out on the IDV limited skins were out of luck. But if you’re a fan of the breakthrough JRPG, then you’re in luck, because almost everything that was featured in the original Identity V crossover event is making a reapparence!

But in hindsight, this is a bit unfortunate considering we don’t have any details on any new Persona 5 Royal crossover content just yet. Here’s hoping they’ve got more in store for players to splurge on!

Speaking of splurge, if you’re looking for new IDV accounts for sale with unlocked characters, IDV limited skins, & more, U7BUY has got you covered.

New Identity V Crossover Essence & Schedule

For the Persona 5 Royal Crossover event, we’re seeing the return of two banners featuring the colorful cast of the Persona 5 franchise. Similar to the original release of the Identity V crossover event, this time there are two Crossover Essence Banners to pull from.

First, you have Persona 5 Crossover Essence I which features –

  • S-Tier costume of Ren Amamiya for Acrobat
  • A-Tier costume of Ryuji Sakamoto for Forward
  • A-Tier costume of Ann Takamaki for Female Dancer
  • A-Tier costume of Yusuke Kitagawa for Embalmer

The banner also includes character-specific emotes, graffiti, and portraits.

The next banner is Persona 5 Crossover Essence II which features –

  • S-Tier costume of Goro Akechi for First Officer
  • A-Tier costume of Makoto Niijima for Coordinator
  • A-Tier costume of Futaba Sakura for Mechanic
  • A-Tier Haru Okumura costume for Gardener

Similarly, you can expect character-specific emotes, graffiti, and portraits.

Each of the costumes from both Identity V Crossover Essences also includes an Awakened form that puts the cast into their Phantom Thieves costumes using the ‘Soul of Resistance’ crossover event exclusive currency.

The good news is you’ve got plenty of time to grind for the new costumes from the latest Identity V Crossover Event as it’ll last from August 2nd, 2024 to August 31st, 2024. But if you need a little help, check out U7BUY to find an affordable Identity V top up!

The New P5R Crossover Event; Phantom Thieves’ Challenge Letter Reappears

Besides the costume rerun, we’re also getting the same event from the original release but this time it’s called ‘Phantom Thieves’ Challenge Letter Reappears’. The main gist of the event though will be familiar to veteran Identity V players.

Players will simply have to log in daily and participate in battles which will reward ‘Identity Clues’ to unmask the Phantom Thieves. Completing these tasks will award the Phantom Thieves’ Portrait.

If you manage to complete all the Identity Clues for each member of the featured Phantom Thieves, you’ll receive an A-Tier Pet Morgana! Once you’ve completed all challenges, any identity clues you receive thereafter can be used to redeem Crossover Essences for both banners or Inspiration.

For now, those are all the details we have of the official release of the Identity V x Persona 5 Royal crossover event.

While it is disappointing we’re not seeing anything new (or not announced yet) from the enhanced Persona 5 Royal version of the game, it’s still a welcome collab rerun event featuring some of the most recognizable JRPG characters in the last decade!
